On 17th December 2016, KYP Convocation & Malaysian Skills Commissioning Ceremony 2016 was held at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Kuantan, Pahang. The ceremony was attended by Pahang Chief Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Diraja Hj Adnan Bin Hj Yaakob. There were 784 graduates from KYP and KYP Advanced Skills received their scrolls during the convocation.
Pahang Chief Minister Award was awarded to Alif Najmi Bahari, a Diploma in Graphic & Multimedia Design student from Faculty of Creative Arts, Heritage & Tourism (FCAHT). Alif Najmi is a hard working and ambitious student. He obtained excellent results throughout his studies at Kolej Yayasan Pahang even though he was born with disability. His disabilities to hear or speak did not stop him to succeed. He received RM5,000 cash with a certificate and a camera.
Other recipient award was Nur Fazirah Binti Bakri, who received Extra Co-Curricular Excellent Award. The Diploma in Science Computer (Information Technology) student from Faculty of Industrial & Technology Management was awarded because of her commitment in every activity that she involved. She was also one of the committee members of most of the clubs and society that she had joined.
“Congratulations to all graduates of KYP. This is a stepping stone for you toward a better future. Good luck for you and always remember to support your country,” said YH Dato’ Norhishamuddin Bin Yaacob, KYP Managing Director in his speech. He also mentioned that KYP always creating new programs to ensure their students and graduates have better opportunity in the outside world.
